CARTS Country Bus – Williamson

 Williamson County is served by several transportation providers. The service available to you depends on where your trip begins and ends.

CARTS is the rural public transportation provider for Williamson County. CARTS Country Bus serves rural and unincorporated areas outside the county’s urban transit service areas. Enjoy the convenience of having a CARTS bus pick you up at your home, take you to your destination, and then back home again. Ideal for disabled individuals or others requiring special assistance, Community Transit service provides curb-to-curb transportation throughout Central Texas.

Cities such as Georgetown, Round Rock and Leander provide or sponsor their own local transportation services.

CARTS Country Bus services operate Monday through Friday only in  rural areas of Williamson County from 8:00am to 4:30pm .

Spare App

CARTS Country Bus riders can book same-day trips directly through the new CARTS App, powered by Spare. Riders will be able to book and pay for curb-to-curb service using the app—no phone call required. Trips can be scheduled for the same day or up to two weeks in advance.

GoGeo Limited Paratransit Service – The GoGeo Limited Paratransit and Senior Service will be discontinued after Sept. 30, 2026, in an effort to align transit offerings with available funding and anticipated ridership patterns. After Aug. 15, 2026, CARTS will no longer accept applications for new riders. The City will continue to provide the rideGTX program. rideGTX is a City of Georgetown program that partners with Uber and zTrip to provide accessible transportation 24/7, year-round.

Fares are set by zones. A CARTS customer service agent will inform you of ride costs when booking the trip. All fares are based on a oneway trip. Half-price fare is available for registered CARTS Customers, Seniors 65 and older, Persons with Disabilities, and Children Under 12.
