The Transit App is a free mobile app that helps you plan your ride, track your bus in real time, and now pay for your trip on CARTS!
2. What is CARTS NOW?
CARTS NOW is an on-demand, curb-to-curb ride service available in select communities. It works like a public transit version of a ride-hailing app.
3. How do I use the Transit App to ride CARTS NOW?
Download the Transit App, enter your destination, and choose CARTS NOW. You can book a ride instantly or schedule one. You’ll see your driver’s ETA and can track the vehicle in real time.
4. Do I need a separate app to pay for my ride?
Nope! Once you download Token Transit, it connects inside the Transit App. After that, you can buy and use passes directly in the Transit App with just one tap.
5. Is the Transit App free to use?
Yes, it’s completely free to download and use. You’ll only pay for the ride itself if fares apply in your area.
6. What devices work with the Transit App?
The Transit App works on most iPhones and Android smartphones.
7. Can I still call to book CARTS NOW rides?
Yes! You can still book by phone if you don’t have a smartphone. Just call your local CARTS dispatch center during business hours.
8. Where is CARTS NOW available?
CARTS NOW operates in multiple towns including Elgin, La Grange, Bastrop, Marble Falls, Lockhart, and Taylor. More zones may be added soon!
9. What payment options are available in the app?
You can pay with a debit/credit card through the Transit App (via Token Transit). Passes and stored value can be used.
10. How do I get the free Royale subscription?
CARTS riders get a complimentary Transit Royale upgrade — an enhanced version of the app — just for using CARTS. It unlocks special features and makes the app even easier to use.
