Funded through the Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) program, CARTS’ new commuter routes will provide direct express service to downtown Austin from Smithville/Bastrop and Georgetown/Round Rock, supporting cleaner air and improved travel reliability along Highway 71 and I-35.

The commuter service is part of a broader regional effort led by Austin Transportation and Public Works, supported by a $47.9 million U.S. EPA award to help Austin-area transportation partners maintain mobility during rapid growth and ongoing construction.
