CARTS NOW launches in La Grange and Elgin!

CARTS NOW, the on-demand microtransit service, began operating in La Grange and Elgin on Tuesday, September 3rd. For the first 90 days, the service is free, running Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. CARTS NOW is already a hit in Lockhart, Bastrop, Taylor, and Marble Falls.

To celebrate the launch, CARTS and the La Grange Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, September 10th at 11:45 a.m., prior to the Chamber Board of Directors’ meeting. City Manager Jack Thompson and CARTS General Manager Dave Marsh will offer remarks.

Another ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on September 12th at 3:30 p.m. at Elgin Station, located at 200 Central Ave. Attendees can explore the new CARTS NOW van and enjoy refreshments from Chem Cafe. The event will feature speeches by City Manager Tom Mattis and CARTS General Manager David Marsh. Following the ceremony, passengers can use the new service to travel to downtown Elgin for the sip, shop, and stroll event later that day.
