COVID - 19 Service Alert:  CARTS will return regular service on September 01, 2020 and will continue to provide necessary transportation to its customers. Our call center is staffed Monday through Friday from 6am to 6pm. 

Passengers with essential transportation needs should still call our call center at (512) 478-RIDE (7433) to schedule a ride. All standing rides for dialysis and medical appointments will remain in place unless modified by the customer.

This service only applies to customers in the CARTS rural service area.  This service area does not include the urbanized areas of Travis, Williamson and parts of Hays County including the Austin, Round Rock, Hutto, Kyle and Buda areas.

The BUS provides complementary paratransit to eligible people living in or visiting the City of San Marcos.To apply for ADA Services in San Marcos click on the ADA Eligibility Application (English) or (Spanish). Please read our CARTS District ADA Plan and No Show Policy.

Enjoy the convenience of having a CARTS bus pick you up at your home, take you to your destination, and then back home again. Ideal for disabled individuals or others requiring special assistance, Community Transit service provides curb-to-curb transportation throughout Central Texas.  To schedule your ride call 1-800-456-RIDE (7433) Rides are scheduled Monday thru Friday, from 7:00am to 4:00pm. 24-hours advance notice recommended. Same day reservations can be made based on availabilty. Local vehicles serve neighboring towns, so ride times may vary. We'll set up a time for pickup within our time slots of general availability. On your first call we will request information to enter into your customer profile, and after that we will know you when you call. The CARTS Community Transit service can help you or someone you know who needs a ride for shopping, city business, medical appointments, work, nutrition visits or any other purpose.

Fares

Fares are set by zones. The CARTS customer service agent will tell you what your ride costs when you book the trip. Special Discounts Available! Discounts for senior citizens and disabled individuals are available for all CARTS services. How does it work? Using a sophisticated radio-data communications network and computer-assisted scheduling, CARTS provides advance reservation, shared ride van service with its Community Transit system to thousands of Central Texas customers. Sixty mini-buses and vans operate this flexible general public, elderly and disabled paratransit service throughout the region.
