CARTS, City to launch SMTX THE BUS with roll out party

SAN MARCOS – CARTS has long served as San Marcos’ choice public transit service, and now they are introducing five new busses to their fleet. In addition to the brand new 29-passenger busses, CARTS is rebranding the San Marcos transit system, now known simply as THE BUS. THE BUS is a newer, cleaner, greener city bus system that will revolutionize San Marcos transit.

On Wednesday, Oct. 12, a soft launch will be held at the bus station at 338 S Guadalupe Street. The launch will include a ribbon cutting ceremony from 10 – 11 a.m. followed by coffee and donuts. All rides on Oct. 12 will be free to the public.

In celebration of the new busses, THE BUS will host a launch event on Oct. 14, 2016 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. The event, SMTX THE BUS Roll Out, will feature local treats from Yogurt in Love, Gumby’s Pizza and HEB at four different bus stop locations.
